This is Scott Alexander, Perry County Judge Executive, announcing the 2015 Perry County Spring Cleanup, organized by the Perry County Fiscal Court. Keeping our county clean is not just an annual event, but a continual process. The Spring Cleanup will be the first of several cleanup events occurring throughout the year.

Tne Spring Cleanup will be held from April 29th through May 2nd. Disposal locations will be at the Perry County Garage in Christopher and the Waste Connections site at the old county landfill location at 725 Shady Ridge Drive. Gloves and trash bags can be picked up at the Solid Waste office in the courthouse.

We are fortunate to call this place our home. The natural beauty of these eastern Kentucky mountains is second to none. Keeping our community clean is very important to our future success. We have lots of opportunities to increase our tourism and grow our economy, but those things are made more difficult if we don't keep our county clean.

I am asking for you to get together with family, neighbors, and friends to organize community cleanups. I am also calling on school groups, church groups, and civic organizations to organize and participate in our campaign. For more information, contact the Perry County Solid Waste Office at 606-439-0149, or visit our website at perrycountyky.org.
